Homecoming 2009 Highlights
This year's Friday Night Bash was a real hit, and provided a great opening to a weekend of fun. Alumni were treated to music from Second Stage performers, Blaise ('10) and Jay Dunn. During a break in the set another pair of siblings, Steve Dunn '81 and Colleen Gamble '83 took the stage.
The Saturday morning AGM included a changing of the guard for the King's University College Alumni Association. Past-President, David Elias '90, led the meeting at which our new President, Jen MacRae '96, was voted in. David and Jen co-emceed the Alumni Award of Distinction Brunch that followed. The delicious brunch was very well attended, and recognized 2009 Alumni Award Recipient, Richard Dixon '78.
The Alumni Association recognized the dedication of Dr. Alan Pomfret, Dr. Hunter Brown and Dr. Kenneth Gordon. The three professors have each taught King's students for 30 years, demonstrating commitment to the institution and their respective areas of specialization.
The brunch was followed by a musical tailgate party in the courtyard. Alumni were treated to musical entertainment by Kyle Geraghty, who was joined by alumnus Sean Adams '00. It was a fun, casual morning, with alumni and their families enjoying a slideshow, popcorn & nachoes, ping-pong, singing, dancing and casual mingling. The bus was boarded at 1:15 p.m. and headed to the stadium. 84 alumni, family and friends filled the King's alumni tent to cheer on the Mustangs as they took on the McMaster Marauders. It was a close game, with the Mustangs losing 35 - 42. Despite the rain and the loss, spirits were high and good times were had by all.

Homecoming 08 Highlights
Rick McGhie continues to entertain King’s alumni from all decades and the Friday Night Homecoming Bash brought alumni spanning 5 decades, faculty staff and friends to the Student Lounge in the Wemple building for some catch-up time!
Saturday morning’s AGM for the Alumni Association was a casual affair led by President David Elias and included reports on the activities of the committees that support activities for our King’s alumni. This was followed by a delicious brunch where the 2008 Alumni Award recipient Debbie Comuzzi ’78 was recognized for her incredible contribution to the welfare of children. Debbie’s remarks touched on the difference the faculty and staff have had on her personally, her family, and her career.
Dr. David McGregor from the Department of Sociology was recognized for 30 years of service to King’s. King’s College Foundation Board President John Callaghan ’67 drew his sister Claire’s (BA ’71) name in a draw for a lovely basket of goodies donated by TD Insurance, Meloche Monnex. (Claire insisted on a re-draw!)
More social time followed with champagne and orange juice and musical entertainment by Ted Johnson ’69 , and John Regan ’84 . Finally, 50 alumni and friends, adorned in King’s ball caps, jumped on a bus to the Homecoming football game – the Mustangs vs Windsor Lancers. King’s has 24 students on the team – and one of them scored 3 touchdowns! King’s had a tent in the endzone which was conducive to more catching-up. We had even more King’s entertainment during the half time show – when 4 of our younger King’s alumni rose to the challenge of successfully competing in a bed race. The final score was 58-5 for the Mustangs!
